\n<\/a> to talk about a career in tech<\/strong>, inclusion<\/strong> and what it means to be a young woman in a professional world<\/strong> of (only) men<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Who said the world of technology<\/strong> belongs to men<\/strong> alone? Women are making great strides, although there is still a long way to go.
In fact, in the technology sector, unfortunately, we cannot yet talk about gender equality. The representation of women in the various sectors of work and at the level of responsibility<\/strong> is still severely limited<\/strong>, discouraged <\/strong>and marginalized<\/strong>. Suffice it to say that according to the 2021 edition of the European Commission’s<\/strong> “Women in Digital Scoreboard<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/a>“, only 18% of Information and Communication Technology<\/strong> (ICT<\/strong>) specialists are women across Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

But it is always a study by the European Commission<\/strong> that gives us hope. Young Italians rank in the top three places in Europe for interest in science and computer science; In particular, a small share is felt for mathematics<\/strong> (41.7% compared to the European average of 37.6%) and computer science<\/strong> (49.2% compared to the European average of 42.2%). There are still many cultural barriers in a society where girls are convinced that there are still no equal job opportunities in the STEM<\/strong> (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics<\/strong>) field. Added to this are other factors, such as compliance with societal expectations, gender stereotypes, gender roles, and the lack of role models that guide girls’ career choices away from STEM backgrounds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Bridging the gender gap in the world of technology, digital and entrepreneurship, through networking, empowerment and training activities, is the non-profit association SheTech<\/strong> , which contributes every day to the positive change in the world of work in STEM<\/strong> fields to make the professional environment increasingly meritocratic and inclusive, capable of connecting talents and creating new opportunities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
